Cheryl Jolene Strawn (CJ) was born January 27, 1944, in Los Angeles, California. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts from University of California, Riverside. As a Commercial Pilot she shared her knowledge of aviation by becoming a CFIAI. As an active member of the Santa Monica 99’s, she helped coordinate the Palms to Pines Air Race in which she raced and won with pioneering aviator, Fran Bera. She also designed the 99’s Museum of Women Pilots in Oklahoma City.
